My name is Linda Y"vette" Gehrt and I am a Artist , Author, Illustrator,and Poet. My name Linda Y'vette is Spanish and French which translated means "Pretty Yew Tree". I started painting as a child when my father would buy me art supplies. We would spend many hours together painting and sketching. Not only did he want me to see it his way but mine as well. He taught me to look at what I was drawing from different veiws not only his but mine as well . This would go on till we came to a complete compromise. If i could count the hours we drew together I would have to refer to them as........ timeless. 

One day I met a famous artist and sculptor. Her name was Edna Goodenough. Edna was well known as a NBA Stylemaker. 1975-1988.

Edna was a inventor, engineer, teacher, caricaturist and a production coordinator. She had many years working for disney as well. The day I met Edna we were talking and I asked her to look at some of my artwork. She told me to meet her at the library so she could view my art. We talked of hours of what she accomplished in the artfield . She told me she wanted to teach me how to make children's books and that she knew I would be excellent at them. :) She spent many hours and days teaching me and one day I asked her.....Edna ? Why are you teaching me this when you teach colleges ? She replied, Yes I do teach colleges . But art is a gift and either your a natural or your not. She then went on to tell me as she viewed my work that I am a natural artist. What a compliment! I am very blessed to have met her and have been taught by her the art of making children's books.
